Confidence Rooted in Design

Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value.

 — Proverbs 31:11

Why?

Because she brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life.

Proverbs 31:12

Not occasionally.

Not when it’s convenient.

All the days.

That kind of consistency isn’t found in striving.

It comes from knowing who you are.

I think that’s where we can get a little lost…

because many of us have been shaped by a version of womanhood that God never created.

A version that says you have to prove your worth.

Or shrink to be accepted.

Or strive to be “enough.”

But that’s not we see in the beginning.

It is not good for man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.

— Genesis 2:18

That word “helper” in Hebrew is Ezer Kenegdo.

Ezer means help, support, strength, and it’s the same word often used to describe God as a helper to His people.

Kenegdo means corresponding to him, equal to him, standing face-to-face.

So this wasn’t about hierarchy.

It was about design.

A woman created to stand with strength.

To meet, to match, to bring what is needed.

You were never created to be less than.

You were created to be essential.

This changes everything,

because a woman who knows she is Ezer Kenegdo doesn’t move the same.

She’s not reacting out of insecurity.

She’s not competing for position.

She’s not striving to prove her value.

She builds.

She covers.

She brings good, because she understands her place in God’s design.

So when Proverbs 31 describes a woman who is trusted…

it’s not showing perfection.

It’s showing alignment.

Reflection Questions

  • The question isn’t “am I enough?”, but it’s:

Am I aligned with who God says I am?

Sit with this gently. What comes up for you?

  • Where in your life might you be responding from a place of insecurity, rather than resting in the identity God has already given you?

  • How does understanding yourself as Ezer Kenegdo (strong, intentional, and positioned with purpose) begin to reshape the way you see your role and value?

Grace Challenge

Move through your day with a little more awareness (and a little more grace.)

Before you respond, speak, or make a decision, quietly ask yourself:

“Is this coming from insecurity, or from identity?”

And when you can, gently remind yourself:

I am not less than. I am Ezer Kenegdo, and created with intention, strength, and purpose.

At the end of the day, take a moment to reflect:

  1. Where did I feel myself leaning into insecurity?

  2. Where did I choose to show up from identity?

Not to judge yourself, but to become more aware.

Because alignment doesn’t happen all at once… it’s cultivated, gracefully, in the everyday moments.
